About Speaker
My research is interdisciplinary and focuses on the intersection of sound and vision in our aesthetic
experience of art, film and multimedia. I explore this from a phenomenological position but also
using the mechanism of metaphor, invoking critical theory and continental philosophy to help
explore this important area of experience. Together with these physical sense experiences, I also
explore how the imagination is invoked and implicated in our experience of artworks. I also lecture
in photography and am a keen musician.
