During this workshop, participants will be invited to co-create an art installation using parametric design and digital fabrication techniques. The text/ure installation will be exhibited online and physically at Cardiff School of Art and Design during the EASTN-DC matte(r)ialities festival. The participants  will see the whole process: from the development of the computer program to milling the final object by a CNC machine at Fab Lab Cardiff. Moreover they will actively contribute to the final piece by offering words and sentences which will then be transformed by the created algorithm into real elements of the physical  exhibition. No special skills are required to attend.

EASTN-DC, European Art-Science-Technology Network for Digital Creativity, is a network dedicated to the time-based digital arts: musical arts, visual arts, performing and interactive arts.  It is gathering 16 partners in 13 different countries from Europe to the Americas. They will host and exchange about 70 creators in the frame of a 16 international events tour spread over 4 years. These privileged moments, in direct contact with the audience, will frame a new and systemic approach, binding the Knowing “Disseminate”, the Learning “Inseminate”, the Making “Collect”, a digital creativity factory leading to a creative citizen.
