The project will explore the relationship between individuals and technologies, giving my usual soft-sculptures a breath of life – imbuing them with the ability to move, breathe and beat.
The work aims to demonstrate the value of technology, in particular for the disabled community, especially since Covid-19 has opened the doorway to virtual presence & remote-working.

Mobility aids and Zoom calls give us freedom, not separation. The melding of body and electronics is of great fascination to me, in part due to my own deepened dependence on modern creations as a result of my disabilities. The project I will be undertaking as a British Pavilion Fellow at the Venice Biennale, supported by the British Council, will explore the relationship between individuals and technologies, giving my usual soft-sculptures a breath of life – imbuing them with the ability to move, breathe and beat. The work aims to demonstrate the value of technology, in particular for the disabled community, especially since Covid-19 has opened the doorway to virtual presence & remote-working.
